Authentic India: Experiences of an Independent Traveler with Pam Perry
Vibrant. Colorful. Enchanting. Mysterious. Kitsap native Pam Perry recently spent 10 months traveling the world solo, and found India the most rapturous of all her destinations: Women in brightly colored saris, bustling bazaars, the cool air of a mountain tea estate, the fragrant aroma of a spice market. Sacred cows share the streets with working elephants and cycle rickshaws. India walks a beautiful tightrope between modern amenities and ancient traditions. The state of perpetual stimulation makes India one of the most exciting destinations in the world for all travelers, including those going it alone.

City to City Walking in France: Learnings from a novice pilgrim
France has an extensive and ancient trail system between cities throughout the country including sections of the pilgrimage to Compostela. There are detailed maps and directional markers. It looks entirely safe, fulfilling and fun. But....can you still get lost? What about wild boars? Can you get shot by French hunters? Does the beauty make you happy all the time or are there still moments of suffering? Find out what not to do from a novice pilgrim who tried it alone the first time and then with a partner the second. Also, bring your stories about walking in France to share our learnings!

Speaker Neil Baker is a frustrated traveler who, despite his deep love for all things European since being an exchange student in Germany in 1969, has only been there five times. Even then, he has spent more time in Paris, Amsterdam, and Rome than any east coast American city. He likes hearing stories as much as telling them so please bring yours.
