Brooke Drury
Brooke Drury got travel in her blood early in life while visiting relatives in France and exploring tropical island locales such as Tahiti, Jamaica, Hawaii and Kiribati. Brooke lived in California and Virginia before arriving in the Seattle area in 1993. She is a lawyer by training, but gave it up in 2000 to stay at home with her then small children and to work for the family business. Brooke and her family moved to Bainbridge Island from Seattle in 2001.
An avid scuba diver and licensed Divemaster, Brooke has continued to explore underwater realms with her husband Ben in Hawaii, Saba, the Cayman Islands, and Thailand. In 2009-10, they took their kids Tica (14) and Ian (12) on a year-long adventure to Australasia, with extended stays in Fiji, Thailand, New Zealand and Australia. They called it the year of Homeschool in a Global Classroom and kept a blog of their adventures. Her most recent trip was to the Big Island of Hawaii, where she and Ben spotted their first tiger shark (!).
Brooke has worked for The Traveler since September 2010, both in the store and on internet-related activities. You can reach her at webmaster@thetraveler.com. She also invites you to check our her work on The Traveler Blog, Facebook and Twitter.
